This week we have enjoyed lots of exciting learning across the curriculum!
In Science, the children explored the different stages of the human life cycle. We discussed how people grow and change from babies to adults and talked about the different things we can do at each stage of life. The children enjoyed sharing their ideas and making connections to their own experiences.
In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of numbers to 100. The children have been learning how to flexibly partition numbers in different ways, write numbers in expanded form, and identify tens and ones.
In Computing, the children investigated how information technology is used in the world around us. They thought carefully about the many jobs that rely on information technology and discussed whether there are any jobs that use no information technology at all. This led to some interesting conversations and helped the children recognise how technology impacts our daily lives.
In English, we continued our work on Paddington. The children used their imagination to think about what Paddington might have seen and heard while standing next to the guard. They also considered what he might have been thinking at that moment. Later, the children explored Paddington's feelings throughout the story and created emotions graphs to show how his emotions changed at different points.
In PSHE, we focused on distinguishing between right and wrong. Through discussions and different scenarios, the children thought carefully about making positive choices and understanding the consequences of their actions.
In DT, we have been developing our sewing skills in preparation for making our Paddington bags. We have practised threading a needle and learning how to sew a running stitch. We are becoming more confident with these skills and are excited to use them when we create our finished bags.
Have a lovely weekend.
