As we prepare to close the books on this wonderful academic year, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible journey our Year 1 children have embarked upon. It's truly astonishing to see how far they've come since those first September days, filled with wide-eyed curiosity and a dash of the unknown.

From conquering phonics to bringing stories to life with their blossoming reading and writing skills, each child has demonstrated resilience and eager enthusiasm. We've witnessed them tackle maths problems with growing confidence and watched their imaginations soar during creative arts and playtime. There are few things more rewarding than seeing children find their voice and share their unique perspectives with the world around them.

Each day brought new adventures in learning, whether it was discovering the properties of shapes and materials, exploring nature and our local environment, or experiencing the joy of teamwork and friendship. The progress they've made is not just seen in their academic achievements but also in their kindness and ability to support one another—a true testament to the nurturing environment we strive to create.

To our Year 1 parents and guardians: we extend our heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support and collaboration throughout this year. Your encouragement at home and your trust in us have played a significant role in your child's success.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable chapter, we wish our young learners a fun-filled, safe, and sunny summer break. May these weeks be filled with laughter, exploration, and cherished family moments. Encourage your children to stay curious, embrace new adventures, and perhaps, indulge in a good book or two. Rest assured, the experiences and skills they have gained this year will serve as a strong foundation for the exciting journey ahead in Year 2 come September.

Myself, Mrs Dawber and Mrs Hemsrowrth would like to thank you for al the gifts and cards we recieved, it is very much appreciated.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your child's learning journey. We are incredibly proud of each one of them and are thrilled to see what they will achieve in the coming years.

Wishing you all a summer full of joy and bright days,

Year 1 Team
