We have had a wonderful week! 

We finished our class text, Secrets of a Sun King, in English. With a dramatic twist at the end, the children were very eager to write reviews of the novel, highlighting their favourite characters and events. 

The children were super excited to continue learning about the Ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses in History. They researched about different Gods and created Fact Files on a range of them. We, also, started to learn about mummification. The children have developed a good understanding of the term and can't wait to learn the process and see how the God Osiris links to the ritual. 

The children had lots of fun in forest schools, this week. Some children took their time to learn different knots and make pendants using sticks and piece of string and wool. There was lots of stick collecting and den building this week. The teamwork was amazing! 

In Art, we designed our very own canopies jars. The children chose which head they would like to create and part of the lid and identified how to make a jar with tall smooth sides. I can't wait to make them next week! 

Reminders: 

Next week is walk to school week. We are encouraging everyone to travel to school in an active way. We are going to tally each child that walked, ran, biked or scooted to school each day. The class with the highest points at the end of the week will win a prize.

On Monday, we are creating our canonic jars. If you have a large, old shirt or t shirt that you do not mind getting full of clay, please send it in with your child to wear over their uniform as we start to sculpt.
