We have reached the end of another wonderful school year. It has been a pleasure to watch the children grow in confidence, develop new skills and embrace every challenge with enthusiasm. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished and would like to thank you for your continued support throughout the year. Here is a look at what we have been learning during our final week together

This week, we visited St Wilfrid's Church, where we listened to Rev Holliday as she spoke about the important features of the church and their significance. Sheila then shared some fascinating history about the church, which we all found extremely interesting. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to explore the church ourselves and identify key features such as the font and the altar.

In Science, we discussed which material would be the best for making a toy. Many children chose plastic because it is both strong and waterproof, making it a practical choice for a toy.

In History, we have also been exploring the similarities and differences between Neil Armstrong and Matthew Henson. We discovered that they were both born in America and that they both raised the American flag when they reached their destinations. Matthew Henson was one of the first men to reach the North Pole, while Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the Moon.

In DT, we completed our moon buggies and decorated them. We then tested them to ensure they could be safely pushed and pulled by a Reception child.

In Maths, we have been consolidating our knowledge of telling the time, interpreting pictograms, and using the vocabulary clockwise and anticlockwise.

Finally, we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your kind and thoughtful gifts. We really do appreciate your generosity.
