Date: 15th May 2026 @ 3:35pm

This week in Year 4, we have been very busy across all our subjects.

In Maths, we have continued learning about money by solving different problems, we completed our end of unit assessment and all did really well!   We started our new unit on time, focusing on days, months, years, as well as minutes and hours. We have been converting between minutes and hours and we have learned a rhyme that will help us remember how many days are in each month.

In English, we wrote a recount from the perspective of Bran, describing his experience of witnessing the Brigante attack. The quality of the children's writing blew my socks off!

In Science, we learnt about the parts of the ear and how sound travels through it to reach the brain. We can label the main parts of the ear and understand that each part vibrates and sends the signal o the brain.

In DT, we taste-tested a variety of ingredients, thinking carefully about texture, taste and whether we would like them on our pizzas.

In History, we started to learn about why the Roman empire collapsed and what legacies they left behind.

For homework this week, pupils have RE Carousel, spellings and TT Rockstars to complete.

Have a great weekend!
