This week in Year 6 has been full of engaging learning and lots of enthusiasm!
We have continued reading Darwin’s Dragons and have really enjoyed seeing how the relationship between Syms and Farthing has developed. The children have been practising a range of comprehension skills, including inference, retrieval, and explaining answers using evidence from the text. As part of our grammar focus, the children also created revision-style posters to help consolidate different aspects of grammar, which they worked on with great focus and creativity.
In Maths, we explored the sum of angles inside different shapes. The children now know:
- The total angles in a triangle and quadrilateral
- How to find the sum of interior angles in any polygon
Today, we also began our exciting new topic on circles, where pupils have started learning about key features and vocabulary.
In RE, we learned about Buddhism, focusing on how beliefs can influence the choices people make in their everyday lives. This led to some thoughtful discussions and reflections.
In PE, we continued developing our tennis skills, working on control and accuracy. We also enjoyed some well‑earned sunshine while playing rounders, which was great fun and a lovely way to stay active outdoors.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to another busy and successful week ahead!
