Our holiday planning project continued this week as we turned our attention to budgeting. The children have been comparing self-catering, all-inclusive, and half-board options to find the best value for money. They’ve done a brilliant job weighing up costs and making informed decisions. Perfect practice for real-life problem solving!
We’ve reached the end of Darwin’s Dragons, and what a journey it’s been! The children really enjoyed the adventurous tale of Syms and the dragons, and it sparked some fantastic reflections on bravery, discovery, and doing what’s right. It’s been a real class favourite, and a brilliant text to lead us into some great discussions and refelctive writing on the moral choices Syms made in the final few chapters.
We wrapped up our second-to-last Science unit this week and are now ready to move on to our final topic of the year: Evolution and Inheritance. The children are already buzzing with questions, and we can’t wait to get started exploring how living things have changed over time.
What an incredible Sports Day! The atmosphere was full of excitement and energy, and the children gave their all in every event. There were some epic battles in archery and nail-biting finishes in the hurdles and sprints. It was a brilliant day of teamwork, effort, and fun. Well done to everyone who took part, especially our parents and carers in their race!
