What a week in Y3G!
It was wonderful seeing all of the children participate so well during Sports Day! Their effort, resilience and teamwork was a pleasure to see, every child should be so proud of themselves!
In Maths, the children have been working out durations of different times and counting in minutes and seconds.
In Geography, the children have looked at how Block and Fold Mountains are formed. We used towels, whiteboards and pop toys to explore first hand how the mountains form in different ways.
In Science, the children have been exploring our new topic on Light, the children have looked at the difference between artificial and natural light and been able to group different light sources.
In English, the children have created a letter to Hal's Mum describing the Highland Falcon, the children used features of a letter, prepositional phrases and expanded noun phrases throughout their work.
In DT, we have started our Structures and Mechanisms topic, the children will be designing and creating a box (made out of wood) to store their valuable items. The children explored a variety examples of different boxes to find out which style of box would be most suitable.
We were also lucky enough to watch an incredible performance by Wigan Music Service. The musicians played a range of string instruments to show everyone just how versatile and magical playing an instrument can be!
