12/12/25

Date: 12th Dec 2025 @ 3:45pm

We’ve had a busy and exciting week of learning!

We finished reading Daisy Saves the Day and thought carefully about the dramatic night of the fire. The children wrote some fantastic questions they would have asked Daisy about what happened. We have now moved on to our new poem, London Calls. The children made predictions about what they thought the poem might be about and explored rhyming words within the text.

This week, we completed our shape unit. The children enjoyed sorting 3D shapes and creating patterns using both 2D and 3D shapes. It was great to see them using mathematical language confidently as they worked. We will begin our money topic next term.

In Art, we have been drawing 2D shapes onto our printing blocks. The children have been very focused and creative, and we are looking forward to completing our final piece next week!

We are so proud of the children for their amazing performance in The Inn-spectors! They sang, acted, and spoke their lines with confidence and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see all their hard work come together on stage—well done, Year 2!

Have a lovely weekend!
