Hello from Year 1!
What a wonderful and busy time we have had in Year 1! The children have been working so hard and have loved exploring and learning about some new and exciting things. We are so proud of all their hard work and creativity!
Our English lessons have been full of laughs and rhymes as we have continued our quest with Professor Klunk using the fantastic book Oi Frog! The children have shown such fantastic imaginations!
Our weekly Forest School sessions have been brilliant, and we've been so lucky with the weather! The children have loved being outdoors, getting a little muddy and exploring the wonders of nature. Getting outside and connecting with nature is so important, and it has been wonderful to see the children's confidence grow in the woods.
In art, we have been learning about the famous abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky. We discovered that he could hear colours and see music.
Our science lessons have been fascinating, and we have been busy learning how to sort animals based on what they eat. We now know that some animals are carnivores (meat-eaters), some are herbivores (plant-eaters), and some are omnivores (eat both meat and plants). We used pictures to sort different animals into their correct groups, from lions to rabbits. The children were brilliant at spotting the different animal diets!
Thank you for reading our blog! We look forward to sharing more of our learning adventures with you soon.
