Wood Fold Crowned County Cricket Champions
Wood Fold Primary School celebrated a memorable sporting achievement after being crowned County Cricket Champions following an outstanding team performance in the county finals on Tuesday this week at the brand new Lancashire cricket ground in Farrington, Leyland.
Playing against strong teams from across the North West, Wood Fold displayed excellent teamwork, determination and skill throughout the matches. In very game, the team produced a confident innings, with several pupils contributing valuable runs to post a competitive total. Wood Fold's disciplined bowling and crucial wicket taking, backed up by excellent catches and energetic fielding, was enough to secure victory and lift the county trophy, sparking jubilant celebrations at the end of the match.
PE teacher Mr Carr praised the team's efforts, saying: "The children have worked incredibly hard all season and thoroughly deserve this success. They showed resilience, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the competition."
The county title is a fitting reward for the team's dedication and marks another proud chapter in Wood Fold Primary School's sporting success.
Lacrosse Summer Camp 2026
The camp is designed specifically for boys and girls aged 8–11 and is aimed at helping complete beginners take their first steps into the sport, while also giving existing players the opportunity to develop their skills and game understanding.

Brooklands Lacrosse Club
Whitehall Road, Sale, M33 3NL
Over the three days, children will learn the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun, safe and supportive environment. More importantly, they will experience the teamwork, confidence and friendships that make sport such a powerful influence in young people's lives.
The camp will also provide an opportunity for players and parents to meet coaches from local clubs serving their area, creating a clear pathway into regular club lacrosse for any child who wishes to continue their development beyond the summer.

• No previous lacrosse experience required
• All equipment provided
• Qualified and experienced coaches
• Free camp T-shirt for pre-registered players for all three days
• Free adult one-day pass to Brooklands Gym & Health Club with all 3-day bookings
• Opportunity to meet local club coaches and learn about local playing opportunities
Tennis Summer Camp 2026
