It has been another busy week of learning across the curriculum.
In English, we thought about how Katie might have felt when she was on the London Eye with the lion. We also discussed how Katie and Jack felt when the lion jumped off Tower Bridge. To help us with our writing, we gathered nouns and adjectives to help us to create noun phrases ready for our setting description.
In History, we have been learning about the celebrations that take place when a Queen reaches an important milestone. We explored the different jubilees celebrated by Queen Elizabeth II, with a particular focus on her Platinum Jubilee. We have also been learning about Queen Victoria, finding out when she became queen and how she was related to Queen Elizabeth II. We created a mind map to show all of this information.
In Science, we have been investigating what humans need to survive and discussing the importance of essentials such as food, water, air and shelter.
In Design and Technology (DT), the children have been planning their bag designs. They have been deciding what type of bag they would like to make and choosing the fastening they would like to use.
In Maths, we have started our new unit on Addition and Subtraction. The children have been revisiting number bonds to 10, exploring fact families within 20 and identifying related facts to develop their understanding of number relationships.
Have a lovely weekend
