We have had another busy week in Year 2 with lots of brilliant learning taking place!
During our English lessons, we have really enjoyed continuing to read 'The Boy Who Grew Dragons'. We have started to write a set of instructions on how to take care of a dragon. We are ensuring that we use effective vocabulary, imperative verbs and time adverbials in our writing. We will continue writing our instructions next week.
In Science, we have been learning about the lifecycle of a plant. We looked closely at the plants from our trip to RHS Bridgewater and we were able to see how the seed had germinated and the roots were starting to grow. We are looking forward to carrying out our own investigation into what plants need to grow and survive.
In Geography, we have continued to learn about Cape Town. We learnt the definition of the word 'climate' and then compared the climate in Cape Town with London. From the bar charts that we looked at, we were amazed to find out that the seasons are at different times of the year in Cape Town!
In Maths, we have started our new fractions topic. We have learnt how to find a half and a quarter of different amounts. We will continue with this next week.
Have a lovely weekend! 😊
