Date: 8th May 2025 @ 4:29pm

We started the week with a trip to the forest, where the children had lots of fun exploring and had a go at worm charming – they actually managed to tempt a few worms to the surface! Mrs Grimshaw showed us a bird nest which had been discovered in the undergrowth and the children were fascinated to see what the birds had woven into it to make it soft.
The children described worms in English and we collated their ideas to make a class poem:
 I like worms
by Reception H
I like worms
I like catching worms
I pick them up and they tickle on my hand.
I like worms
Worms like mud
Squiggling in soil
Pink worms wiggling in the ground
They can wriggle all day and night
I like worms
Worms are wriggly, they look like wriggling spaghetti
Pink, slimy, wriggly spaghetti
I like worms
Wiggly worms eat the mud
The worms can move with bristles, their bodies go long and short
Slinking in and out, making holes to help the plants.
I like worms
In Maths, we have begun to explore addition and subtraction though stories and games.
Have a lovely weekend! 😊
