This week we have been reading ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ by Rhonda and David Armitage. The children have been thinking of ways to stop the pesky seagulls stealing the lighthouse keeper’s lunch – they have been most ingenious! We have been learning about the history of lighthouses and it has been lovely to see the children creating their own lighthouses and re-enacting the story in different ways during play.
In Maths we have been beginning to learn about sharing and grouping – this has proved to be a particularly useful skill at snack time!
Mr Carr was busy during PE preparing the children for sports day and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the sunny weather comes back!
We have been very grateful for the sponsor money raised by the children for their sponsored run and it was lovely to end the week with a whole school non-uniform day to add to the money raised. It is even more special to our class since one of the children had to pay a visit to Rainbow Ward over half term.
Have a lovely weekend! 😊
