We’ve had such a fabulous week in Year 3!
In Maths, we have continued our unit on fractions and looked at how we can count in fractions on a scale or a number line.
In English, we have been looking at the book 'The street beneath my feet'. It is an interesting non-fiction text that folds out!
In History, we started our new unit on the Egyptians. We looked at the first ancient civilisations and what each civilisation achieved.
This week, we celebrated 'World Book Day'. On Wednesday, we had an amazing opportunity to meet author, Emma Reynolds. In the assembly, she read her book 'Amara and the Bats' and answered lots of fantastic questions from the children all about being a published author. We also had the opportunity to have a workshop with her to learn how to draw a bat with lots of accessories and the children came up with some excellent ideas to add to their drawing.
On Thursday, we loved seeing all the children's costumes! We had a Hogwarts themed area in Year 3 and created our own potions. The children came up with some brilliant ideas for the name of their potion, its powers and created a recipe for their potions as a group.
The children will be participating in Forest School again on Friday. Could we politely ask that you provide your child with a plastic bag for their wellies. Thank you.
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Miss Hunter
