Sportshall Athletics
Our athletic team were back in action yesterday after the success of winning the Chorley Sportshall athletic competition back in December. The team were up against 12 other schools from the Wigan area in both track and field events. The team demonstrated outstanding athleticism, power, speed and teamwork throughout the competition in each event. The children were victorious in both the 1+1 and 2+2 lap relays, as well as the 4x1 team relay races and finishing second in both the hurdle and 6 lap events.
I am pleased to announce that out of the 12 schools in attendance, the team finished 3rd overall, earning themselves the bronze medal. The children have worked incredibly hard leading up to the competition and thoroughly deserved coming away with a medal.
The team are now eyeing up the Summer athletics, hoping to make it a 5th consecutive year of winning the Town Sports trophy! Well done to all of the children for their dedication, hard work and commitment to their athletics!
