Sports Hall Athletics Champions

Yesterday, our Year 5 and 6 athletics team were in action against schools from Chorley, which was held at Albany Academy. The children took part in both track and field events with all of the children performing to a very high standard. I am delighted to announce that the team won the event overall, scoring a whopping 306 points! All the training and hard work that the children displayed across the Autumn term had definitely paid off at the competition! Well done team Wood Fold!

Junior Park Run

Last Sunday was the start of the junior park run at Mesnes Park and what a turn out we had from our children at Wood Fold. Children from both KS1 and KS2 took part in the run, despite the very frosty and chilly conditions. The children had lots of fun running with their friends and families and achieved some fantastic running times along the way! If you couldn’t make the junior park run on Sunday, then why not join in on the next one. They are running every Sunday at 9.00am at Mesnes Park in Wigan (with a warm-up being led at 8.55am). Remember to bring your barcode to the event and to join the Wood Fold Primary School Running Club on the park run website!

PTFA Crimbo Limbo

This week seen the children taking part in the PTFA ‘Crimbo Limbo’, which was run by Mr Carr and Mr Speakman during the children’s PE lessons. The children took part in a variety of activities including; a Christmas hoopla, target throwing, reindeer speed bounce, new age kurling and of course the limbo! All of the children had lots of fun and enjoyed performing the activities to Christmas hits! If you have not yet sponsored the children there is still time to do so.
