Welcome to Year 2!

What a fantastic week we have had, all the children have settled into Year 2 really well.

During this week, we have been carrying out Geography fieldwork. In groups, we walked to the High Street and made a tally of all the vehicles and pedestrians that travelled passed us. We then collated the data and found that more vehicles than pedestrians use the High Street.

In English, we have started to explore our new text ‘Paddington in London’. The children made predictions about what adventures they think Paddington may get up to. They have also written a character description describing Paddington and all his features. 

In DT, the children have been asked to make a bag for Paddington so that he can keep his marmalade sandwiches safe. We looked at different types of bags and discussed which type of bag would be the best one for Paddington to use.

In Maths, we have been writing numbers to 20 and looking at the value of a number.

We can’t wait to see what we get up to next week!

Next Tuesday is ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening at 5.30pm. We are looking forward to meeting you and giving you all the information you need for the year ahead.
