We have had a fantastic start to Year 3, I am so proud of all the children, who have come back to school, ready and refreshed for the new school year.
This week, in maths, we have started Place Value. So far, we have had a go at representing numbers up to 100 and partitioning numbers up to 100.
In English, we have started reading our new class text, 'The Abominables'. Lady Agatha was kidnapped by Father Yeti, who was recently widowed. He had three baby yetis, who he needed help to raise. Lady Agatha, who fell immediately in love with the yetis, has decided to stay with them and give them the mother's love they deserve. We are really excited to see what is going to happen next.
This week has been 'Fieldwork Week'. As part of our enquiry, we wanted to investigate where is the most rainfall on the school grounds. To complete this, we placed rain gauages in different locations around the school and then we have been checking on their progress over the last three days. Today, we took our final measurement and recorded it into a results table. From this data, we were then able to create bar charts to show how much rain had been collected over the week.
Next Tuesday is 'Meet the Teacher' evening. We are looking forward to meeting you and giving you all the information you need for the year ahead.
Have a lovely weekend.
