This week in Drawing Club, we read The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. The children loved the cheeky seagulls who kept stealing Mr Grinling’s lunch! They had lots of fun thinking of silly and clever ways to stop them.
In maths, we have been learning about sharing and grouping. The children did a brilliant job sharing their snacks fairly and worked together to group animals into the correct fields.
We have also been learning about lighthouses – where you find them and why they are important. The children drew and labelled their own fantastic lighthouses! We even found out that the first lighthouse in Britain was built in Devon but got destroyed in a big storm and had to be rebuilt!
With the lovely weather, we talked about signs of summer and what we did over half term. The children enjoyed drawing their own summer pictures.
Our biggest highlight this week was our fundraiser for the Rainbow Ward at Wigan. The children have been AMAZING, completing a 1k run every day. They showed great determination, kept going, and didn’t give up – we are so proud of them!
So far, we have raised an incredible £1199 – thank you so much for your support!
The children were also very excited to come home in their tie-dye T-shirts today – they look fantastic!
We are so proud of them all.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Tolley ☀️
