Reception Blog - Our First Week 

It has been wonderful to welcome the children into school this week. They have really impressed us with how well they have settled into Reception and adapted to school life. 

We enjoyed reading Our Class is a Family by Shannon Olsen and talked about the similarities between home and school. We also introduced our class floor book, where we record our learning and special moments throughout the year. The children each drew a self-portrait to add to our first page. 

Throughout the week, we have been exploring both the classroom and outdoor area, helping the children become familiar with their new environment. We have also been learning how to use our resources carefully and responsibly, and the children have done a fantastic job. 

Our Reading Café will begin on Monday 7th September and we would love it if you would like to join us with your child. 

We are currently experiencing a few technical issues with our iPads, so unfortunately we are unable to share photographs this week. We hope to have this resolved soon and look forward to sharing pictures of the children's learning in future updates.
