What an incredible week it has been in Year 1! As we head into the Easter break, we’d love to share some of the wonderful learning experiences your child has had over the past few days.

English This week, our young authors have been busy writing their own retell of the much-loved tale of Peter Rabbit. They brought the mischievous bunny’s adventures to life through their words, developing their storytelling skills and exploring the importance of sequencing events in a story. Their creativity truly shone!

Maths In Maths, our focus has been on comparing mass and volume. The children had fun exploring the concepts of heavier, lighter, full, and empty. Through practical activities and group challenges, they developed a deeper understanding of these key mathematical ideas.

Art Our budding artists were introduced to the techniques of hatching and cross-hatching this week. These skills are the foundation of texture and shading in drawing, and the children embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. Their creativity and precision were inspiring!

Science It was all about plants in Science this week! The children explored the different parts of a plant using real-life examples. They were able to label each part, such as the roots, stem, leaves, and flowers, and learn about the role each plays in helping the plant grow. This learning activity sparked great curiosity and appreciation for nature.

PSHE In PSHE, we had important conversations about keeping money safe. The children learned about the value of money, the importance of making wise choices, and how to protect their savings. This session provided them with practical knowledge for the future.
