Town Sports Champions
Wood Fold Primary School have once again demonstrated sporting excellence by being crowned with the Overall Town Sports Champions Cup for a fifth consecutive year, as well as retaining the Y5/6 trophy for a fifth consecutive year and for retaining the Y3/4 trophy for a third consecutive year!
Our athletes produced outstanding performances across both track and field events, showing determination, resilience and excellent teamwork throughout the competition. Every competitor gave their best, earning valuable points that secured another memorable victory for the school.
‘Winning the Town Sports title for a fifth year in succession is a remarkable achievement and reflects the hard work and commitment that our children have put into their training leading up to the event’-Mr Carr, PE Teacher.
A huge thank you goes to the staff, parents and supporters who encouraged the team throughout the children’s journey leading up the final’s night. Your support throughout the process helped make the day even more special and we are glad that we got to celebrate the children’s success with you, even in the pouring rain!

Tag Rugby Competition
The Wood Fold Tag Rugby team proudly represented the school at the Wigan Year 5/6 Tag Rugby competition, where the team demonstrated outstanding determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the day.
Facing strong opposition from schools across Wigan, the children played with enthusiasm and confidence, applying the skills they have developed during PE lessons and training. Excellent passing, quick movement and strong defensive tagging enabled the team to compete in every match, making it through to the group stage all of the way to the quarter finals.
Throughout the event, the pupils showed great respect for opponents and officials, displaying excellent sportsmanship both on and off the field. Their commitment, effort and teamwork were a credit to Wood Fold, and they should all be extremely proud of their performances.
Well done to everyone involved for representing the school so brilliantly!
