We've had another fantastic week of learning in Year 2.

In English, we have continued reading 'The Boy Who Grew Dragons'. A fire breathing, scaly dragon hatched from Tomas' dragonfruit! Now, he has to try and conceal it so that his parents, sister and Tomtom the cat don't discover him!

In Maths, we finished our unit on Mass, Volume and Capacity by exploring temperature. Next week, we will be looking at Fractions.

In Science, we discussed the different parts and functions of a flower and a tree, we then labelled diagrams to show what we could remember.

In PSHE, we talked about different types of families. We learned that there are lots of different families but every family is special.

On Thursday 1st May, Year 2 visited the colourful gardens at RHS Bridgewater. During our visit, the children participated in an interactive workshop, where they had to sort fruit and vegetables and then did some hands on gardening. We watered plants and flowers, planted peas and used a pestle and mortar to grind thyme. We even had time to play in the Woodland Play Area in the glorious sunshine. We had a fantastic time in such a beautiful setting.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend! 😊
