What a fantastic and hard‑working week we’ve had in Year 4! The children have shown brilliant effort across all subjects, and we also enjoyed a lovely treat with Own Clothes Day for Easter Bingo, which brought lots of smiles and excitement.

In Maths, we have been exploring hundredths as decimals and using place value charts to help us understand how these small parts make up whole numbers. The class showed great focus and growing confidence with this new concept.

In English, we finished our class book, Queen of Darkness. To round off our learning, the children worked on a vivid setting description of the celebratory feast after the victory against the Romans—a wonderful chance to use rich vocabulary and imagination.

In Science, we discussed how different factors can impact animal habitats, looking closely at both human influences and natural disasters. The children shared thoughtful ideas and showed real curiosity about how nature works.

In History, we examined Roman armour in detail and explored how it contributed to the Romans becoming one of the most advanced and skilful civilisations of their time.

In Art, we continued developing our Still Life drawings, focusing on shape, shading, and careful observation.

In Computing, we analysed data from a data logger, comparing temperatures from different times of the day and across various locations around school. The children enjoyed being real “data detectives”!

As part of Women’s History Month, we learned some fun and fascinating facts about Jane Goodall and her groundbreaking research on chimpanzees. The children were truly inspired by her work.
