We have had another great week in Year 3 this week.
In Maths, we have completed our unit on Fractions by finding a unit fraction of a set of objects and a non-unit fraction of a set of objects. Next week, we will be moving on to Money.
In English, we have continued to read ‘Secrets of a Sun King’. We collected phrases from the text to show how Lil was feeling when Lil, Tulip and Oz got caught in a sandstorm. We then explored reasons for and against Howard Carter entering the tomb of Tutankhamun before it was officially opened.
In History, we explored what the ancient Egyptians believed about pharaohs. We will be looking at this in more detail next week.
In Computing, we discussed what desktop publishing is. The children at a go at using writing text and then changing the font size, style, and colour. We discussed the importance of both text and images on specific documents, such as, magazines, newspapers, and invitations.
In Art, we continued to look at canopic jars. We explored the artistic features and discussed what they would have been made from.
In Forest School, once again, the weather was on our side, which gave the children the opportunity to explore and have the best time. We climbed trees, spotted tadpoles, and newts in the pond, went on mini-beast hunts and played hide-and-seek.
I hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend and will see you back in school on Tuesday 5th May.
Miss Hunter
