We’ve had a really fun week in Reception! In Drawing Club, we read Tadpoles Promise by Jeanne Willis and the children loved making up a new ending to the story. They also thought of lots of fun play dates for the frog and butterfly.

In maths, we started addition and had great fun using the addition ship to add numbers together.

In science, we carefully observed our class caterpillars and talked about how they are changing. We also learned all about worms, where they live and why they are important. At Forest School, the children worked together to make a class wormery and gently found worms to put inside.

To finish the week, the children created beautiful butterfly paintings inspired by American artist Lucy Arnold. They painted symmetrical butterflies and added lots of careful details.
